The first draft of the manuscript was among over a dozen books written before his debut publication Elantris (2005). Sanderson referred to the prospective series as The Oathshards Series in 2004. Sanderson completed the first draft of The Way of Kings in 2003, though the original manuscript differed significantly from the published text. A fifth novel, under the working title Knights of Wind and Truth, is expected to be released in November 2024, while writing for the latter half of the series will begin after Sanderson finishes writing the upcoming Era Three Mistborn trilogy. The second novel, Words of Radiance, was published in 2014 and debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Seller List, followed by Oathbringer in 2017 and Rhythm of War in 2020. The first novel, The Way of Kings, was published on August 31, 2010. As of 2022, the series comprises four published novels and two novellas, set within his broader Cosmere universe. It not only defines how I understand my national identity, but also serves as a foundation for my cognition and interpretation of almost everything. It is hard to describe how much this book means to me. It is through the lens of love that Cao Xueqin reveals to the readers the dilemma, tragedy, and general condition of human life. I do think it is the best Chinese novel, but I wouldn't say it is the emblem because it departs greatly from the convention of Chinese literature and aims to reveal the hypocrisy of this convention which is its feigned integrity and disregard for love. Many believe that The Dream of the Red Chamber is emblematic of the climax of Chinese literature. Zhuangzi said that the desire for money is difficult to overcome, but the desire for fame is more difficult. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Not a full-stop pass, but I feel no dire inclination to continue. Not sure I’m willing to wade through another three and a half hours of smut to get to the half hour of story in the next book, but we’ll see how bored I am in the next few days. But it’s okaaaay, she’s super different from all the other Darling women he’s kidnapped before and soon enough Peter Pan joins in the fun for some orgy stuff. for some side-quest reasons because although there’s a “don’t touch the Darlings” rule in place, touching the Darling appears to be the main quest for every Lost Boy within a quarter mile. Winnie Darling is a dead-inside and SUPER horny young woman. If you like your enemies to lovers romance with hot, ruthless, morally gray love interests, you’ll enjoy The Never King and the Lost Boys.
